music to his ears

Everyday Audrey is able to ask for what she wants a little bit better, to communicate the specifics of what her little mind and body are after in the moment more and more.  “Hat, on.  Eat, waffle.  More bite.  A-geen.” (just a few of these demands)

Lately, when anyone is singing with her, she has been asking for “Jesus.”   So when she asked today and on the third time through the song, I decided to quiz her on what she’s picked up without us even noticing.  I sang the song and paused in different places to give her a chance to sing, the way we practice Old McDonald, and this is what she did:

Jesus loves me this I KNOW.  For the BIBLE tells me so.  Little ones to Him belong.  They are WEAK but He is STRONG.

How sweet the sound!  I loved hearing her tiny praises to our awesome God!

“Serve the LORD with gladness; come before His presence with singing.”
Psalm 100:2
